Margaux

Margaux is a French restaurant located on the ground floor of the JW Marriott Grand Rapids in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Alongside its two connected concepts, the Lounge at Margaux and the jdek at Margaux, it anchors AHC Hospitality's dining program at the property with a menu built around French technique and Great Lakes ingredients.

À Table (The Table)

Every dish and drink runs through the same filter: French technique, local sourcing, and seasonal timing. In the kitchen, that means classical stocks and precise sauce work applied to ingredients from named regional farms — the menu credits the farm when its story adds to the plate. The bar follows the same logic: French-rooted aperitifs and digestifs, a wine list led by France but rounded out with small producers, and cocktails built around Michigan spirits and the same seasonal ingredients the kitchen is using.

L'Histoire (The Story)

Margaux is built on a simple premise: French technique doesn't need a passport to feel authentic. AHC positions the restaurant as approachable fine dining, rooted equally in French artistry and Great Lakes ingredients — an identity held up by four pillars: craft, place, warmth, and intention.

Le Décor (The Setting)

The room is designed to shift across the day rather than hold one fixed mood. Mornings lean into natural light and soft acoustic music; lunch warms up with French jazz and a more conversational pace; by dinner, the space moves to candlelight and an upbeat modern-French playlist, balancing polished luxury with real social energy. Private dining lives in the Bordeaux Room, which holds up to 18 guests under chandelier lighting, with buyout options extending to the full restaurant, the Lounge, or the jDek for larger events.

"Margaux's velvet touches, teal and gold notes...made for a comfy but sophisticated time"

One World, Three Spaces

Margaux, the Lounge, and the jdek are distinct experiences under a single identity — connected, not interchangeable. The Lounge is Margaux's more social, casual register: French-influenced small plates, a strong bar-forward format, and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The jdek is the seasonal extension of that same philosophy, an outdoor patio overlooking the Grand River in summer that converts to heated Domes in the colder months, with a garden that ties directly back to the kitchen since ingredients grown there appear on the Margaux menu itself.
